This is the ongoing story of my 28 day meat free dietary experiment.
I’ve eaten meat my whole life. And while at various times in my adult life I have given up wheat, sugar, dairy, coffee, all sweeteners, all flours, and that sort of thing, I have never stopped eating meat.
I am inspired by the upcoming date of 12/21/12 which is the last official day of my experiment. I have decided to feed my “light body” instead of my “meat body” between now and then, just to see how I feel.
The rules are simple – I can only eat foods that are 1 step away from sunlight -which is pretty much, PLANTS.
I did a little brainstorming on what I should eat in this process. Here is what I came up with:
Fruits, vegetables, fermented vegetables
Legumes, beans
Grains: millet, amaranth, teff, quinoa, rice (in smaller amounts)
Mushrooms: reishi, shitake, portabello, maitake, others
Nuts and seeds, well chewed
Hemp: hemp seeds, hemp flour, hemp oil
Coconut: coconut water, coconut oil, coconut flour
